Overview

How this site stays fresh

The entire gallery is driven by one small file: data/media.json. Photos live in assets/photos/. Videos use YouTube IDs (recommended — no large file uploads, faster page loads, automatic mobile touch handling).

When you add a new photo or video, edit the JSON once and re-deploy. The site rebuilds itself.

Add a new photo

   Save the photo file

   Export or upload your photo to assets/photos/. Use a descriptive name (e.g. lesson-bunker-2026-08-04.jpg). Format: JPG, PNG, or WebP.

   Add an entry to data/media.json

   Inside the "photos" array, paste a new object (don't forget the comma between entries):

   Save and re-deploy

   Push the file changes to your host. The new photo appears automatically on the Gallery page, sorted newest first.

Add a new video

The fastest path is YouTube — upload your video to YouTube (unlisted is fine), then paste the video ID into the JSON.

   Find the YouTube ID

   URL looks like youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ. The bold part is your ID.

   Add an entry under "videos" in data/media.json

   Valid categories: irons, driver, shortgame, putting, mental.

   Save and re-deploy

   The video shows up on the Gallery page and the Videos page automatically.

When you're ready to automate

If you want to add photos and videos from your phone without touching a computer, the next step is to connect a no-code CMS. Two good options:

• Decap CMS (formerly Netlify CMS) — opens a login page at /admin/ on your own site where you upload photos/videos from any device.
• Cloudinary — free tier, upload-on-the-go. We can swap the JSON loader for a Cloudinary gallery widget — say the word.
